Terms of service
Last updated · 14 June 2026
These terms govern your access to and use of Tablevent (the “Service”), operated by Tablevent (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or making a booking you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You’re responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Keep your details accurate.
2. Bookings & cancellations
A reservation is a request to dine at a restaurant; the restaurant is your contractual counterparty for the meal. Each restaurant sets its own cancellation window, deposit and no-show policy, shown to you before you confirm. Cancel within the stated window to avoid any deposit forfeiture or no-show fee.
3. Events & tickets
Event tickets are sold on behalf of the hosting restaurant and are subject to the terms shown at checkout, including capacity, age limits and refundability. Unless stated otherwise, ticket sales are final once the event has taken place.
4. Payments & refunds
Payments (deposits, tickets, gift cards) are processed by Stripe; we never store your card details. Refunds, where applicable, follow the relevant restaurant or event policy and are returned to your original payment method. Gift cards are non-refundable for cash.
5. For restaurants
Restaurant partners agree to honour confirmed bookings, keep availability and policies accurate, comply with applicable food-safety and consumer law, and pay applicable platform fees. You retain ownership of your guest data and may export it at any time.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the Service: no fraudulent bookings, scraping, reverse engineering, interference with security, or use that infringes others’ rights or breaks the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Content & intellectual property
The Service, its software and brand are ours or our licensors’. Content you submit (e.g. reviews) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to host and display it in connection with the Service. You’re responsible for the legality of what you post.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided “as is”. We don’t control the quality of meals or events, which are the restaurant’s responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss; nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
9. Termination & changes
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified, and continued use after they take effect means you accept them.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
